This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from www.kitchenheroesuk.co.uk (the “Site”). 

Personal information we collect

Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this information as “Order Information”.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information. 

How do we use your personal information? 
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfil any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to: 
- Communicate with you; 
- Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and 
- When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services. 

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. Please note that due to the current laws in the United Kingdom and USA around knife crime, Kitchen Heroes UK must share some of your details with government and FDA data bases in order to define that you are over the age of 21 years and there for legal to sell knives to.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or another lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights. 

Behavioural advertising 
As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfil contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States. 

Data retention 
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. 

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. 

People over the age of 21 years of age in the UK and USA (21 years for some states) are allowed to purchase from our website.  We require a 2 step authorisation via photo id (in the UK) and via address (USA) to ensure you are of legal age to accept these goods.

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 21 years of age .

  1. Information you have already submitted in visiting the Merchant’s site which might assist in establishing your identity and age, data which might include your given and family names, your residential, shipping and billing addresses, (including street address, city, state/province, country, zip or postal code), your phone number, your email address, etc.
  2. Information requested by age verification service and submitted by you in completing our online forms.
  3. If age verification service is unable to verify your age and identity using the above information, you will be requested to upload a picture of government-issued photo identification, such as your driver’s license. To send us your photo ID, you can upload a file from your computer or take a picture within your browser. If you choose to use your mobile phone’s camera to complete this part of the process, we will collect your phone number in order to send you a link to continue the process. Once the age and identification verification process is completed, we will delete the picture of your photo I.D. from our system.
  4. Non-personally identifiable information is collected automatically for the primary purpose of customizing age verification service, understanding how age verification service is used, and preventing misuse. This would include, but is not limited to information about the device and software you are using, and your activity using age verification service, the date and time of your access to age verification service, your device’s internet protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, the web page visited prior to accessing age verification service, locale preferences, identification numbers associated with your devices, your mobile carrier, date and time stamps associated with transactions, system configuration information, metadata concerning files included in the information you submitted to us, and other interactions with age verification service.



The information collected through our age verification service is used to verify your identity and age, to communicate with you, and to customize your experience. We may retain all information collected in order to facilitate future verifications, with the exception of the photo of your government-issued identification, which is deleted as soon as your identity and age have been verified by age verification service. If you do not wish us to retain your personally identifiable information, you can send an e-mail to support@shopperagecheck.com to request that we delete that information from our records. We may, however, retain your information even if you instruct us to delete it, if retention is reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations, meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse or enforce the Agreement. Information stored in routine backups may also be retained for the period those backups are retained in the ordinary course of business.


We may share your information if you direct us to do so, with your consent.

If you provide a photo of your government-issued ID to age verification service, it will be deleted as soon as the age and identify verification process is complete. It will not be shared with any person except for our authorized employees or contractors.

We may share the results of age verification service’s verification, as well as some or all of your information with the Merchant as part of the verification process.

Your Information may be disclosed to our employees, vendors, contractors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf, at our direction and subject to the terms of this policy, including a third-party identity verification provider.

Automatically collected non-personally identifiable information may be aggregated and disclosed without restriction. We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information publicly.

We may disclose to outside parties Information you submit and other information about you that we collect when we have a good faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with applicable Law; (b) protect the safety of any person from death or serious bodily injury; (c) prevent fraud or abuse of us or our customers and users; (d) to protect our property rights; or (e) enforce the Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations. If we provide your information to a law enforcement agency as set forth above, we will remove encryption before providing it.


In the event that ShopperAgeCheck enters into a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, but we will notify you of any change in control or use of your Information or if either become subject to a different privacy policy. We will also notify you of choices you may have regarding the information.


We will post any changes to our privacy policy on this page. The date our privacy policy was last updated is shown at the top of this page. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date active and deliverable email address for you, and for periodically examining this privacy policy to check for any changes. By using age verification service after such changes are made, you signify that you agree to be bound by and comply with such changes and ShopperAgeCheck shall treat your use as acceptance of the changed provisions.


California Civil Code Section 1798.83, known as the “Shine the Light” law, permits our customers who are California residents to request and obtain from us a list of what personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year and the names and addresses of those third parties. Requests may be made only once a year and are free of charge. Under Section 1798.83, we currently do not share any personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.


The information we collect from you is processed and stored on dedicated, secure servers, contracted by us from our service providers. These servers are located in the United States and Canada. Your information is initially collected by us and transmitted, over the internet, to those servers. There is no absolute security in transmission over the internet or electronic data storage. We use generally accepted industry standards and reasonable processes to ensure your data is secure and in accordance with our privacy policy as outlined here. However, we do not and cannot guarantee security of information collected electronically or transmitted. As a result, you are submitting information to us at your own risk.

Embargo Sheild Cutomer Detail Confirmation Program Privacy Terms:

The collection, storage, deletion and use of personal data within Embargo Shield takes place in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations. In particular, beeclever will not pass on personal data of the user to third parties without authorisation or make them known to third parties in any other way. Further information on data processing, data security and data protection can be found in the Data Protection Declaration.

The company undertakes to comply with the applicable data protection regulations.

Unless permitted by a valid consent of the affected Embargo Shield user or German or European data protection law, the Company is prohibited from collecting, processing, using or disclosing personal data of Embargo Shield users to third parties.

beeclever and the associated Embargo Shield do not store any personal data. Embargo Shield accesses the data stored in this shop platform, compares them with the sanction lists and their contents. As reference value, only the order ID of the Shopify order is stored on the beeclever database. All information about orders or customers are retrieved and displayed via API interface from the shop platforms database. None of this data is stored on beeclever databases.

No data will be transmitted to the operators of the provided sanction lists. All sanction data that are compared within Embargo Shield are exclusively processed internally. All sanction data are stored on the beeclever databases.
